Calendula or Marigold, very beautiful flower :). it's from Asteraceae family, same with daisy family ( yeah yeah I still enjoy the Biology class, haha). Calendula is from Latin language Calen dae meaning Little clock, Little calender. It can be planted in Southwestern Asia, Western Europe, and Mediterranean. I just know that Marigold is refers to virgin Mary, haha.
The flower used for cosmetics, culinary ( for soup and make color in chesse/ butter, also for tea of course) and for medicinal use ( stop bleeding, prevent infection, antiseptic, and detoxify liver and gall bladder).
Romans and Greeks used the golden Calendula in the rituals and ceremony. In India the flower used to decorate Hindu statues.
Dank je wel Sissy!
