The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrd cable/
stayed/ suspension bridge in New York city and is one of the oldest bridges
either type in USA. Completed in 1883, it connects boroughs of Manhattan and
brooklyn by spanning East river. Design by John Augustus Roebling with total
lenght 1825 m, width 25,9 m , and height 84,3 m above mean high water. It have
the longest span 486,3 m. Since opened in May 24, 1883 became the icon of New
York city. In 1964 declared as a National
Historic Landmark and in 1972 as a National
Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
